Why Hasn T The Ligament From Ankle Sprain Healed?
Sprained ankle 9 years ago. Ligament never healed. Had MRI results negative. Doctor will not prescribe supportive devices even though I have difficulty walking or standing for extended periods of time. Doctor says he wants no limitations and wants me to work through the pain.

I think you might have damage cartilage from inside. I would suggest you to show it to other arthroscopic surgeon and get 3 tesla MRi of the ankle. If there is any thing positive is seen on mRi then we can plan accordingly. If MRi is normal i would suggest you to go for ankle diagnsotic arthroscopy.
