Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why Having Burnt Rubber Smell In Stool After Colonoscopy?
I had a colonoscopy about 3 years ago and they found polyps in my colon. Now my stool sometimes smells like burnt rubber. I have been waiting to go to the doctor for a month and a half but i have experienced this on and off for the last year. Could you please help me!
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, intestinal infection could be the cause or it could be due to the diet taken if the smell is the matter of concern then it may be due to the diet taken, in absence of clinical symptoms it is nothing to worry, if the symptoms long last then stool needs to be sent for test hope this information helps.
