Why Having Prolonged Stomach Issues And Pain Underneath Breastbone?

I pushed down on an area in my stomach close to my belly button on my right side, what could it be? If been having stomach issues for a year now. I get pain underneath my breastbone. I currently have diarhea, and I feel very week. I've only been giving medicine for gastritis. I'm worried its something more serious?

Hi,
Your problem is called dyspepsia.Dyspepsia can be defined as a postprandial discomfort or upper abdominal pain. It can also be called indigestion.Postprandial heaviness, fullness, bloating, sensation of incomplete digestion (as if food stayed in the stomach for several hours) is a common complaint encountered by patients suffering from Dyspepsia.
Most likely your dyspepsia is related to hypermotility hence Dyspepsia related to motility syndromes may be treated by prokinetic drugs such as domperidone along with proton pump inhibitors.
I would suggest you to take probiotics for few weeks.Probiotics will help to restrore the good intestinal flora,Along with probiotics B complex are to be taken.Once the good bacterias are restored all problems related to digestion will improve.
Along with it pantroprazole 40mg can be taken once daily to provide symptomatic relief in burping and bloating.
Some general instructions are-
Try to take lots of yoghurt in food.
Avoid smoking and alcohol.
No spicy oily food.
For loose stools antibiotic like Azithromycin and metronidazole for 3 dayscan be given after stool examination, along with an antispasmodic .Start a probiotic. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can help further.
