Why Is Citric Acid Causing Bloating And Gas With Diarrhea And Nausea?
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... I was awaken last night with severe stomach bloating/girggling and gas with diarrhea and nausea (no vomiting but had lots of pressure). I can t eat citric acid without issues but this was new. What ws going on?
Citric acid can cause gastric irritation and increase acid production in the stomach. This could be the reason for your symptoms like stomach pain, gas, bloating, nausea, etc.
Especially, if you take it on an empty stomach, the symptoms could be worse. So, I would advise you to avoid taking it on an empty stomach. You can also take an antacid for relief from your gastric symptoms. You should also regularize your food timings and avoid taking spicy and oily foods.
