Looking for some help. I am dizzy but other wise feel fine. I can't walk in a straight line and even laying down the room seems to spin. I am on no new meds and I haven't had any alcohol to drink for over a year due to pregnancy and now breast feeding. What could be going on?
HI. This is called vertigo. You have typical symptoms. I would suggest for such a patient:: Bed rest. Never be alone - not even in the bathroom because there is no way to control oneself during the attack and you may have a fall with attendant risk of associated injuries. Medicines:: IT is always better to get an opinion of ENT and/or Neurosurgeon. This is important as the clinical diagnosis can be had only on particular clinical tests a Doctor alone can elicit. And then He can advise you further tests for ENT check-up for ears, MRI brain-ears- angiography etc.
The medicines do help and should be taken under the prescription of the Doctor as you are breast feeding the baby.
So please follow this advise and get well soon.
Sometimes it is difficult to pin-point the causes , but the treatment remains almost same and it may take a few weeks for you to get perfectly alright.. So do not worry if it takes more time to be symptom-free.
