Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am currently using a 30 day Event monitor for my heart. I have noticed that if I use it at rest it always says that my heart rate is regular, but if I use it after exercising it always says my heart rate is irregular. Is this a typical response from the monitor?
Hello, Welcome to HCM and thanks for asking your question. I can understand your concern very well.
I would like to ensure you that its absolutely normal to have irregular heart rate after doing exercise. At rest, you can have regular heart rate, but after exercise due to adrenaline rush, heart rate will definitely become irregular (it will increase mostly), so no need to worry about it.
So its a typical response from the monitor due to exercise. Carry on with your exercise and if you feel chest tightness or chestpain or breathlessness, then you should concern a bit. In that case, you will have to consult a physician. Otherwise no need to bother and enjoy your life.
Hope this answers your question and let me know directly if you have any follow up queries.
