my stomach bloats up and feels heavy and look pregnant very frustrating. my doctor office gave me pills to take and the first day my stomach went down and felt really good almost flat that i could really tell see and feel the difference but then he got back to being bloated and the pills not really helping. the pill is Amitiza. He then gave me another pill which i just received and haven't taken it is hyoscyamine. Do you know anything about these pills and if they work and if the second one is suppose to be better or work better than the first? I just want to feel normal again.
The treatment you are taking is for Chronic idiopathic constipation. It will better if you go for some investigations like, Barium swallow and meal study, Colonoscopy to rule out Gastrointestinal disorder. Apart from that you may get help by altering your food habits like going for more green vegetables, low residual diet, drinking plenty of water and regular exercises. Yoga might help you in reducing stress and toning up your body....you may also take a prolonged course of anatacid (Antiflatulants) , may be for 3 - 4 weeks. Eating small frequent meals (3- 4 hours apart) is one of the aternative you may like to try.
