Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
I think it is more in adult due to big blood vessles in adult, so more chances of bleeding.
Second thing, after tonsillectomy , patient should chew and eat proper food. Child eats proper food but adult refuses to eat or drink proper quantity of food and liquieds . So, because of nonuse of muscles of throat, causes spasm of these muscles and so causes more pain in adult.
Have a good time.
