Why The Pain In Head Is Not Going Away?

my dad hit his head this morning at 7am.. it is now 8:30 pm. he hit it hard enough draw blood and has had a headache most of the day. he took 2 tylenol 3 pills and it still has not subsided the pain completely and he felt dizzy for a short period today. any suggestions ?

If your father was dazed, disoriented (even if for only a few seconds), dizzy, off balance, nauseous, or vomited any time during the day and he still has any of these symptoms including severe headaches or pounding in the head then, I would take him the ER for an evaluation. I would not give any more Tylenol or pain pills as this will mask any pain that may need to be noticeable over the next 24-48 hrs in order to check on his status. He likely suffered a Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI) or concussion.
