Why The Speech Is Delayed And Struggling With Retaining Information?

Please can you help me, I am from England and finding it very hard to get some medical support for my daughter. She is 10 1/2 years old and when I was pregnant with her she had Ventriculomegaly this was found out at me 12 week scan. I went through my pregnancy knowing this and the ventrical spacing enlarging and at 8 months pregnant I was told everything was normal again. I was pleased but when she was 18 months old I noticed her speech was delayed and resulted in speech therapy until she was 7 years old. She also struggles with retaining information and is currently working a year lower than her age. Please can you help with trying to get help or some advise.

Welcome to HCM forum,
Your child seems to be having a problem which is not too much of a worry. She has a delay of just one year is very good and especially if she is having trouble only with language, then only what you need is speech therapy which you need to continue. In due course of time, she will improve. Apart from expert speech therapy, You can also contribute in her speech by training her at home. Be patient and she will be fine soon.
