Why Would Fluttering In The Chest Occur, When My Blood Pressure Is Normal?

I sometimes feel fluttering in my chest. I m usually at rest and can feel it several times in one day. I have no chest pain or shortness of breath. My blood pressure is normal. I do not have any thyroid issues. I m am 70 years old. I take calcium daily and baby aspirin. No medications.

Hi,
You may be experiencing a paroxysmal arrhythmia. Atrial fibrillation and supra ventricular tachycardia are the commonest. I suggest you see a cardiologist who may perform a 24 hour tape. Sometimes lifestyle changes can help reduce the incidence. Reduce caffeine and smoking. Reducing stress and practicing relaxation techniques may help.
