Will CA-125 Test Show High Result If Taking Contraceptive Pills?
Hi, am a 36 yrs old woman.going through an annual health screening just before a week.and they have done ca-125 test which was above than normal in my case. Am taking oral contraceptive pills since 1 n 1/2 yrs.I heard somewhere that sometimes CA-125 test will show high if one is taking contraceptive pills.my ultrasound for ovarian cancer is done.waiting for the results.pls advise.

CA 125 test measures the protein found on surface of ovarian cancer cells and consumption of oral contraceptive pills doesn't result in false high values of CA 125.There are many conditions like endometriosis or uterine fibroids or some recent surgical procedure which can result in high levels of CA 125.
