Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I need a heel lift in my right shoe due to LLD. I believe I ve been using one too large which contributed to the injury. Yesterday I was lifting a heavy weight doing cleans and after the last rep felt a sharp pain in the hip joint on that right side. It was quick and wasn t terribly painful. Today I feel it occasionally but still not very painful. I m 60 so I m concerned about possible permanent damage. Never having injured that area before I was wondering if I could have just caused something like a strain where it will totally heal in time.

Thanks Dr., all I was concerned about was damage needing surgical repair of the socket joint, or worse, permanent damage requiring the dreaded replacements. It definitely feels better today, at times like a healing strain, almost ticklish, and nothing sharp. I've lowered the heel lift, and will continue to do little more than walking for exercise until it heals completely.
