Will Flying After Emergency C Section Be A Problem?
Hi there,
I had an emergency c-section 11 feb 2011 during the birth of our son. We are due to fly to New xealand from Scotland on 26 Mar. Will flying be a problem? I have had no complications since the procedure and my wound is neat and healing very well. Also an sweeling in hands and feet have gone down drastically.
From your query you are concerned about flying after having a C section. From your question it sounds like you had the surgery years ago and your incision is well healed. There is very little chance of your wound causing you problems during the flight. Of bigger concern is sitting in a plane for an extended time can make anyone at risk fro getting blood clots in your legs. I recommend for all my patients who have a long flight that they do leg exercises by flexing and extending feet and legs and walking in the aisles during the flight
Hope this answers your question. Please contact us again if you have questions or need help.
