hello...i had sex with my gf and i didn't use a condom...her periods got over a week back and i had sex after that..i gave her 'unwanted' pill the day after we had sex. Will her menstruals start again? because i heard that after taking the pill the girl should bleed. Pls suggest me with some answers. Thank You
If the emergency contraceptive pill is taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse, the possibility of pregnancy is less. Because of the high dose of hormones in emergency contraceptive pill, it can lead to the withdrawal bleeding in a few days after taking the tablet. This period may vary from person to person depending on the which part of the menstrual cycle they have taken the tablet. If the tablet is taken in the first half of the menstrual cycle there is possibility for early onset of withdrawal bleeding.
And if the tablet is taken in the second half of the menstrual cycle there is a possibility for delay in the withdrawal bleeding. After taking the tablet you can wait for one week to 10 days to get the withdrawal bleeding. If she misses expected date of periods, better to go for a urine pregnancy test once to rule out the pregnancy and you can wait and watch for withdrawal bleeding.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
