Will Leostrin S Effect Be There Even If The Medicine Gets Dissolved In Mouth?
Hi I m 23, 5 2, 135 lbs and I am currently on the Loestrin24Fe birth control pill. My question is,what if the loestrin 24 Fe melted/dissolved in my mouth before I even had the chance to drink water, is the pill still going to work? or should I be worried and use a back up?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
If the Loestrin24Fe pill dissolves in your mouth before you have a chance to drink water, it may still be effective as long as you swallowed the dissolved medication. However, it is important to follow the instructions provided with your medication and take it as directed to ensure maximum effectiveness.
If you are concerned about the effectiveness of your birth control pill, you may want to consider using a backup method of contraception, such as condoms, until you can speak with your healthcare provider. They can guide the best course of action based on your circumstances and medical history.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
