Hello, It is unfortunate that she has suffered a lot due to the retained products. This happens on several occasions. If I were to treat her, I would give progesterone, styptics and nutritional supplements apart from antibiotic after the second check curettage. Prescribing an oral contraceptive at this stage should be considered again as this could be another cause of the persistent bleeding. Since the beta-hCG levels are being monitored, declining levels indicate return to the normal state. Abstinence should be followed until regular contraception can be initiated, after controlling the bleeding. Hope this helps.
