Will Steroid Treatment Treat Bumps On Finger Caused By Dyshidrotic Eczema?
I ve got bumps on my finger that haven t gone away in 2 weeks. A week ago, I went to the doctor who said it was dyshydrotic eczema and prescribed a steroid creme to put on the bumps. It has not worked and now my joints near my fingertips are swelling. Any and all help would be most appreciated, Thanks.

Hello, Welcome to HCM,
Dyshidrotic eczema is a type of dermatitis of unknown cause and it is characterized by a pruritic vesicular eruption on the fingers, palms, and soles. This mainly affects teenagers and adults and may be acute, recurrent, or chronic.
The symptoms dyshidrotic eczema will range from self-limited to chronic, severe, or debilitating. It is some time unresponsiveness to most of the treatment. I would suggest you to 1.Cold compresses 2.Short courses of oral steroids 3.Immunosuppressants. Immunosuppersants should be initiated carefully after weighing benefit over the risk, You should consult your dermatologist for further opinion. Thank you.
