Will Stomach Surgery Repair Leaky Valve In Stomach?

I just found out monday in a outpatient procedure i have a leaky valve in my stomach. I am researching this problem. Is there a stomach surgery that can be done to repair it? I will see my Doctor for a follow up but not til march. I know i have to change my diet and have to get bricks to make a inclined bed.

Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
It seems that you have undergone either an upper GI Endoscopy or Barium swallow and meal test.
Leaky valve means the lower esophageal sphincter may be lax and causing the reflux.
Yes there are procedures to strengthen this valve but the surgery is done only if the symptoms are very severe and not amenable to medications, changed diet, and all the precautions one take.
If there is associated hiatus hernia the surgery is definite and needs to be considered on the merits of the defects, your symptoms and response to the medications.
I would advise you to try the following:
Diet changes like no oily, spicy food.
Identify the foods that instigate or enhance the problems and stop these altogether.
Stress and/or anxiety is one of the most important contributory factor, hence should be well controlled.
PPI like Pantoprazole
Domperidone or Metoclopramide may help a lot as motility regulator.
Antacids particularly when on empty stomach.
