Will Taking Nph Insulin Help Lower Blood Sugar Level?

I'm type 2 dibetic I take metformin and Glyburide my a1c in 7.2 I got a upper respitory infection and in 90 days my a1c jumped to 15.1 but I had no physical signs of high sugar my doctor put me on 10 units of nph insulin to help lower my blood sugar. This morning I notices my knees are blotchy is that normal?

Hello,
Injectable insulin would definitely control the blood sugar levels but it would need a repeated titration of doses of insulin.It may take a while before achieving the control of blood sugar levels.
