Will Taking Methylprednisolone Cause Any Harm To Baby In Future?
Hi, I m from Russia. I am pregnant (9th week) I have a high content of male hormones. Recently there was a danger of abortion. My doctor prescribed me methylprednisolone take to reduce the level of male hormones. I ve read that in Europe and America do not use methylprednisolone. What negative action of methylprednisolone has on a child in the future? What advice do you replace methylprednisolone?
The methylprednisolone has not shown to have any ill effects on baby or mother. It is not teratogenic; i.e. does not cause any abnormalities in baby. However, premature rupture of amniotic membranes and low birth-weight babies may occur. Hence close monitoring of the growth of the foetus is necessary.
