Will The Contraceptive Tablet Create Any Issue If Pregnancy Continued?

I had an ipill 12-16 hours after unprotected sex, I have missed my periods and my pregnancy test shows positive. My sonography has also confirmed the pregnancy. Are there any chances of the baby s formation being affected Bcoz of the pill...any risks or precautions

Hello and welcome,

Please do not worry. The pills are in the system for a short time. The baby does not come in contact with the mother for the first week after conception. By this time the pills are out of the system and do not cause effect on baby.

The only issue is if you were already pregnant before you took the pills. In this case there is no data on the effect of these pills in pregnancy and baby. They are categorised as category X, that means that this drug that cannot be used during pregnancy.

So please discuss this issue with your doctor and then decide about the future course.
Hope this satisfies your query.
