Worried About Child Having Dehydration Due To Diarrhea And Vomiting. Extremely Gassy And Burping. Visit To ER Required?

My17 month old has had diarrhea for 6 days now. No fever, but one night of vomiting. Diarrhea is white, watery and explosive and occurs 5-10 times a day. Extremely gassy and burping. Smells foul like stomach bile. Eating sporadically and drinking but only wants milk. Has been diagnosed with a peanut allergy, eczema with dairy being a trigger. On soy milk currently. Is clearly having gas pains and is waking up in a sleeper full of diarrhea 2-3 times a night. Should we take him into the ER? Worried about dehydration.

Hello,
The greatest problem with diarrhoea in young children is dehydration.
You should definitely take the child to ER as he may require intravenous fluids.
Moreover a stool culture should also be performed to look for any evidence of infecting organism and the required antibiotic.
Thanks
