Hi. Welcome To HealthcareMagic

PCOD is a syndrome meaning it had multiple components of problems. PCOD patients have irregular menses, anovulatory cycles, infertility, multiple cysts in ovaries, obesity, acne, excess hair. They may have high blood sugars, and glucose intolerance.

Weight loss helps in regularizing cycles and increases the chances of pregnancy. Metformin, a diabetic is proven very effective for controlling glucose intolerance. Metformin and weight loss itself are very effective for regulating cycles.

If you do not conceive, In spite of these measures (weight loss+metformin), you need Ovulation induction medicines (lomiphene, letrozole, Follistim, Gonal-F). For these medicines you need Gnecoligical evaluations. Do not self treat.

Regards, Dr. Jagdish
