What Is The Cause Of Hematuria With The History Of Stones?

i have recently flown and after two flights, i had mild hematuria for a couple of days. i have a history of stones, so i am savvy to the issues. i also take plavix and pletal, blood thinners. is there a connection? does air travel in and of itself bring on blood in urine?

Hi,

Having travelling recently might have caused traumatic injuries to your kidneys/urinary tract.

If you have a history of stones, then, another cause could be stones (or crystals) injuring your urinary tract pathways during the flight.

Taking plavix and pletal will increase the chances for bleeding. They will not causing bleeding, but will also increase the time of bleeding.

I suggest to drink plenty of water and to avoid dehydration as it will worsen bleeding.

Hope it helped! Let me know if you have further queries!
