Question: hi i have had 4 c-sections and had my tubes tied after my fourth one could i get them untied cause i really want another baby it was nearly 6 years ago that i had them tied i so want another baby i am from Australia and if i can get them untied how much does it cost

Tubal ligation normally involves cutting the tubes and (1)tying the two ends or (2) sealing them with a clip or (3) burning the ends so that eggs released from the ovaries cannot reach the uterus and sperm cannot reach the eggs.
Reversal of tubal ligation is possible. Success of the procedure may depend on the following factors: (1) the method used to close the tubes- rings or clips are easier to reverse (2) your age and general health (3) the health and state of your uterus, ovaries and the length of fallopian tubes that remain after you had the procedure- the longer the tubes left back the better
Your doctor may recommend doing a test called a hystersalpingogram which involves using a XXXXXXX to assess the tubes.
He or she will also take a history and examine you to assess your general health.
The success rate is between 40 to 85% and depends on your age and health, your partner's health and presence of healthy sperm, the length of the tubes remaining, the type of procedure done to tie them off, the amount of scar tissue that is present and the skill of your surgeon.
The hysterosalpingogram is normally repeated a few months after the surgery to make sure that the tubes are open.
Normally pregnancy can occur within the first year.
