How Long Do The Effects Of Combantrin Last In The System?
Question: I took Combantrin (pyrantel pamoate) last Wednesday and still see them passing in my stool, I don't see any of them moving but is it common to still be passing them 4 days later? Or am I still infected? Thanks
Brief Answer:
Take Mebendazole.

Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney.
I understand your concern.
Both of the things are possible. Means they might be just the killed worms, or they can still be there. You always need to repeat the course of anti helminthic drug after 2 weeks she that the larvae which are small would grow and get killed.
After you have taken this medicine and still passing worms , i advise you to get a stool routine and microscopy done and to take Albandazole/Mebendazole and repeat after 2 weeks. I personally prefer to use Mebendazole as it is safer.
I hope it helps.
If you have any further query please ask me.
