Is CA-MRSA A Serious Cause For Concern In Russia?
I was reading your answers and i have questions !
1. In Russia only in Moscow mrsa rapid test is available ?
Your answers –
+A patient comes to my clinic with an infection, and has a fever and so on. I need to start the patient on the antibiotic I think would be best, and at the same time send the sample tissue to the laboratory for a culture and sensitivity. But the test takes 2 days to report a result, and so I cannot let the patient go about without antibiotic for 2 days.
I have heard that there is a rapid test, but not in all countries. In Russia, there is a central laboratory in Moscow that performs the Rapid test.
2.and you said mrsa rapid test it should be sponsored in government hospitals as it has be done in past ! So it is not yet sponsored in Russia, rapid MRSA test in government hospitals ?
- Your answer
Yes countries should adopt the Rapid test, and even make it free in government hospitals (which has happened in the past). Because MRSA occurs in only the low socioeconomic population, who cannot afford even a 35 $ test for their own well being.
3. You said mrsa occurs only in low economic society –
- Your answer
Because MRSA occurs in only the low socioeconomic population
You mean HA MRSA in bad hygiene hospital , because Ca MRSA can get everyone also economic well-developed people.
4. As I know CA MRSA is not a big problem in Russia, like in USA, because in Russia don’t use so much antibiotics. Is it true ?
Well though over questions, I commend your hunger for knowledge :)
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.
Hope the holidays went well for you and your family.
1. Yes, the central laboratory in Moscow does perform the test, but just sending the sample for testing to Moscow and back takes 2 days; not including the time taken to perform the test
2. It has been done in Russia, but the government hospital I work at sponsors it, but sends the sample over to Moscow, which is time consuming. The laboratory here does not have the expertise to perform the test, and also all cases of MRSA need to be reported to the Central Lab in Moscow, which is why it is mandatory to send the sample there
3. Yes
4. Yes, we practise safe and controlled use of antibiotics
Hope this helps sir. :)
Best wishes.
Does it really works by that ? I don’t now -
I think it could be done in cases where it is not serious problems like mild MRSA skin infection
The sample sent to laboratory and wait for result,
is it so ?
But in hospital with sick MRSA patient there is no time to wait - and of some Russia area that is far away from Moscow – if patient is not treated early he would die
As I have read rapid test in not so complicated – and could be easily done – so I think hospitals in Russia could practice it by their own
Our GenoQuick® MRSA test system allows you to have fast and reliable direct detection of methicillin-resistant S. aureus from patient samples. Based on the GenoQuick® technology, the test system is primarily suited for primary screening of patients with a suspicion of MRSA. A reliable test result is achieved after only approx. 2.5 hours.

As in USA rapid test is very simply done by doctor – who decide what kind of antibiotic to described to treat skin infection !
In Russia such method could be done to avoid unnecessary use of antibiotics is it so ??
This should be implemented everywhere, and I am sure it is being done
Detailed Answer:
Hi sir.
Unfortunately it does. The rapid test takes time, and some times the system is not really helpful to us. Sadly.
But in hospitals where MRSA patients frequently report, the facilities and rules should be better.
Yes, in such hospitals it should be practised on its own (the rapid test). But all major hospitals have a tie up with the central lab in Moscow and we send the samples there, but int he meantime we do initiate treatment without having to wait for the confirmation of the result.
That is also the same one I have heard of, seems really helpful if allowed in all major hospitals.
Yes of course it can, and should, but has not been implemented in all hospitals. But I am sure it is in place in many hospitals, just not mine yet.
Best wishes.
so in understated it is politic problem in some hospitals - because in US as i understand it is usual practice !
so in other Russia hospitals it could be done by that at first in hospital you do a rapid test
for star early treatment and at the same time sent to government central laboratory for confirming test and also for state statistic !
I think this scenery is logic !!
it could be so ?
As it is said in literature as rapid test is usual practice for successful patient treatment !
from literature -
Investigations
Rapid diagnosis of hospital-acquired infection is essential in order to start appropriate treatment early and also initiate procedures to prevent the spread of MRSA.
Molecular testing methods (polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests) are now available to identify MRSA within several hours. PCR from culture samples may be used to detect the mecA gene, confirming the presence of MRSA. Fully automated commercial tests are now available.[17]
MRSA DNA has now been decoded and a test based on two duplex reactions run simultaneously can detect MRSA, meticillin-resistant coagulase negative staphylococci and meticillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA).[18]
A PCR-free test available at the point of care has been developed.[19]

Yes, you are right, it is a political issue also relating to statistics
Detailed Answer:
Hi sir.
Yes, you are right about that.
Yes.
Yes.

Best wishes sir.
