Question: I have done my tsh test and value 28. 6 month back when I have done value 6.what is reasons for sudden rise

I understand what you are asking.

Six months back your TSH of 6 was also abnormally high. It was not normal then either.

It is very likely that the thyroid condition you have, has progressed over the course of 6 months and resulted in further elevation of the TSH value.

The most common reason for this is "Hashimoto's thyroiditis'. It typically causes under-activity of the thyroid gland, which is often permanent. This entails lifelong treatment with a medication called levo thyroxine.

So when I see someone in my practice with a TSH value like this I order the following tests in addition to a thorough physical examination:

CBC
Electrolytes
Glucose
Liver function tests
Kidney function tests
HbA1c
TSH
Free T4
anti TPO (Thyroid Per Oxidase) antibodies
anti-Thyroglobulin antibodies

I strongly suggest you see an endocrinologist near you to see which is the best way to manage this problem

1 Stress is not known to raise the TSH this high

2 There is nothing major to worry about as long as you seek care from a thyroid expert (qualified endocrinologist) and take the prescribed medication regularly, typically for life if you have the permanent condition ('hypothyroidism')

I have done thyroid test tsh test value coming 28 and when I repeat test value coming 12.i am confused.hospital repeated test on both samples again and value same as earlier

I would like to encourage you to kindly review my first response again. I strongly recommend the tests as mentioned above. They will give an idea as to whether or not the thyroid is permanently damaged.
It will also explain the fluctuations in your TSH over time.
