Brief Answer:
Unfortunate
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
Paxil is actually
paroxetine and it is a good drug for
anxiety disorder. Manytimes when there is a good effect with drug the benefit persists. The event that you have experienced is very rare. Still i would call it unfortunate and plan ahead.
The options are waiting for another one week, switching to a new
anti depressant, adding it with cognitive behavioural therapy.
First option is good and in case the symptoms have increased transiently due to some new
stress then its prudent to wait. However even after waiting if the symptoms persist then iy would be advisable to change the antidepressant. Escitalopram,
mirtazapine,
venlafaxine are certain other examples.
If you are a kind of person who desnot like taking medicine then cognitive behavioural therapy is a good option. It involves focussing and changing your thought process with the help of client focussed one to one therapy using weekly sessions.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
