Suggest Medication For Fatigue And Depression In An Elderly Person
Question: I am 66 years old and suffer from severe sleep apnea plus COPD complications...to help ward off consequent fatigue, I've been prescribed Modafinil 200 mg. ( I usually take just half ). I also suffer from clinical depression, for which I can choose Effexor 150 or Escitalopram 10 mg. What would be the best combination, as far as unhealthy interaction are concerned ?
Brief Answer:
Modafinil and effexor is a better combination!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about your COPD and sleep apnea. I have reviewed your medications fully and the best combination at this time is effexor and modafinil as it is void of any possible interactions. Modafinil interacts with escitalopram and I will not want to take this rather.
In all, modafinil and effexor is a better combination compared to modafinil and escitalopram.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
