Hello m'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I would like to first request you to try and attach a clear image of the region to our discussion here along with a description of the location for my better understanding.
In almost all cases, warts are caused by a virus called human papillomavirus (HPV); as there are different types of HPV the more simpler ones are considered harmless, and only a select few are considered troublesome.
I hope you find my response helpful. I also look forward to your response in order to help you further.
Best wishes.

The region is his lower back. I just randomly addressed it as a wart. What could it be also the region around it got thick and hard
Brief Answer:
Not a wart, most probably a skin tag
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
This is not a wart, and seems like an infected skin tag and will require a dermatologists review and examination for confirmation. I do not see why your dermatologist would not choose to excise it and send the tissue sample to a laboratory which is the best way to confirm the diagnosis.
Do not worry about it, I do not see any serious cause for concern. Please also do not hesitate to write to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.
Best wishes.
