Brief Answer:
no need for a serious medical attention

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for posting your query,

I have read through your query and can understand your concern,

Blood while blowing your nose in conjunction with cold, is due to the repeated irritation of the nasal mucosa and the small capillaries lining the nasal cavity. It is a usual finding. Small specks of blood does not command any serious medical attention.

I would suggest you to do the following:

- Use of nasal saline sprays available over the counter and humidifiers over the counter to prevent the nasal mucosa from drying.

- if you have any associated symptoms like sore throat, headaches, sneezing; you may start on benadryl and levocetrizine tablets available over the counter for relief.

- If your cold does not seem to subside with the above medicines, you are required to start on a course of antibiotics after consulting with your doctor.

Hope this helps
