Suggest Treatment For Extreme Nausea And Sleep Apnea

default
Posted on Fri, 20 Mar 2015
Question: Now & again I wake up with extreme nausea. I try to throw up but it's always dry heaves. I used to have this happen when I had a CPAP. Now it's happening without it. I'm overweight, have sleep apnea. This seems to happen when I sleep on my back (don't choose to, it's just how I wake up sometimes). I don't drink, smoke, am on a healthy diet & losing weight. I've had a colonoscopy & the other one for upper GI. All clear. I take omeprozole daily. Any suggestions?

Brief Answer:
Cholecyst problems to rule out...

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

There are many causes to your actual problems including:
- acid reflux
- hyperacidity due to stress
- being overweight
- cholecyst problems

Abdominal ultrasound is advised to check the condition of your cholecyst and pancreas.

If everything is ok, then, being overweight might be the primary cause that would aggravate stomach acidity and other symptoms.

I advise to :
- continue taking omeprazole as prescribed by your doctor,
- follow the diet as you are doing now;
- try to be physically active and
- sleep with extra pillow.

In a couple of months your symptoms will be alleviated; you'd feel good.

All the best!
