Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism During Pregnancy
Question: Hello Dr
I am 29 years old and 6 months pregnant (22nd week going on). I have hypothyroidism since two years and I am on Eltroxin 75 mg tablet. I was taking 100 mg initially and after 6 months my Dr reduced it to 75 mg and I continue taking the prescribed dose everyday without fail.
I always take the medicine as soon as i wake up first thing in the morning. Since the time I am pregnant...I seem to forget if I've taken the tablet in the morning or not. I wake up late cos of lack of sleep in the nights. So somedays I wake up early n take the medicine and go back to sleep again for sometime. Twice it happened that I forgot if I took the medicine or not. Once I didn't take the medicine thinking I took it and once I took though not sure If I took or not.
I am scared if it will harm my baby in case I took a double dose once. Also in case I forgot a dose.
Kindly advice

Brief Answer:
Maintain a diary
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns about taking eltroxin.
Taking an extra dose or forgetting one dose once in a while is not a worry. Generally it is safe and nothing harmful happens.
Therefore as of now I don't see anything to worry about.
I suggest you maintain a diary to write after taking eltroxin so that there is no repeatation or missing a dose.
I hope your doubts are clarified.
