Suggest Treatment For Infection Around Incision On Lip

Question: Hi there, I had a tumour removed from lip 12 days ago, and then it broke down due to an infection 48hrs after surgery, then I had another lot of stitches put in - which broke down 4 days after surgery both stiches were dissolvable, now I've had more stitches put in yesterday which was very painful but today there's minimum pain minimum swelling and it's not weeping, is this normal or is it going to come apart again, I've taken ibruprofen and paracetamol and it feels good, but I'm very paranoid.
Brief Answer:
Only time will tell
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
You had a minor surgery to remove a growth on your lip and the incision broke open 2 times. They re-sutured it yesterday and it is feeling better. You are concerned that the wound will reopen. The possibility that it reopens is high. Once a laceration opens we do not usually re-suture the wound because of the high risk fro infection. Since the wound is looking better you maybe lucky and the wound will not reopen but only time will tell. Keep the area clean as possible and reduce any stress on the suture site.
