Suggest Treatment For Irregular Periods
Normal effect of discontinuation of contraceptives
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Irregular periods at 20 years of age are most probably due to hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactemia and polycystic ovarian disease.
Femilon is oral contraceptive pills which contains estrogen and progesterone, and have common side effect of nausea and vomiting , and headache are due to hormonal changes. Discontinuation of oral contraceptives lead to withdrawal periods within 4-7 of stopping the drug. So, there is no problem in getting periods after stopping them.
I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get her properly examined, investigated( including hormonal profile and ultrasound) and treated accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Please do get back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
