Suggest Treatment For Loose Stools, Nausea, Abdominal Pain And Bloating
Past history: Two previous bouts of gastritis a couple years ago. Complications during gall bladder surgery resulting in damage to common bile duct corrected with Roux-en-Y procedure (2008). Following procedure, I continued to have complications including biliary stricture requiring a second surgery (2009). I don't think there is an issue with this, but included it in my history just in case.
No symptoms of infection; itching, jaundice, fever.
Need diet and lifestyle modifications and symptomatic care.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern . These IBS like symptoms are due to the bowel shortening Roux en Y procedure. Superadded gastritis with no gall bladder makes it all very connected. All your bowel symptoms get flare when you get diet and lifestyle changes. For bowel symptoms you have to take a diet like an IBS patient does. Take fiber rich diet like whole grains, fruits and vegetables etc . Also avoid foods that irritate like alcohol, chocolate, caffeinated beverages such as coffee and sodas, medications that contain caffeine, dairy products, and sugar-free sweeteners such as sorbitol or mannitol. Chewing gum or drinking from the straw also leads to air entry in to stomach and worsens IBS.
Dont skip meals. Eat in time. Reduce dairy products and eat small frequent meals and you will feel better. Exercise regularly and have a proper routine in life from sleep to eating and every thing in time.
Peppermint herb also helps with such symptoms. Its a natural antispasmodic. Go for enteric coated capsules as you have gastritis & heartburn problems already.
Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid spices and stimulants as mentioned. These symptoms will help both bowel bloating and flatulence and pain and will also help the gastritis symptoms.
regarding ibuprofen stop it as it is an NSAID and it itself worsens gastritis symptoms. Go for innocuous agent like Tylenol for the pain.
Nutshell it's all diet and lifestyle modifications and care now. Talk to your gastroenterologist for further management.
I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion pleas.e
