Suggest Treatment For Redness And Swelling In Knuckles After Injury

Is there anything I can do to draw out the infection?
Thanks,
The appearance of swelling & redness-infection, insect bite or inflammation
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
The scraping of the knuckle has led to bleeding followed by healing.
This is a normal phenomenon expected from scraping of any lesion on the body.
After healing, no swelling or redness is expected.
Appearance of swelling and redness on the knuckle suggest some fresh lesion.
Infection can lead to swelling and redness, other causes are trauma, insect bite, underlying inflammation.
Is there history of any of the above mentioned event - trauma or insect bite.
The management of the swelling and redness will depend on the cause.
The treatment consists of antibiotic for infection - topical or oral depending on the extent of the infection.
A clinical assessment is necessary to determine the probable cause of the swelling and redness.
I suggest you to post the picture of the lesion on your finger for clinical assessment so as to determine the cause of symptoms.
Thanks and take care

Thank you - photo attached - it is definitely not an insect bite. I believe there was additional trauma during the healing process. I have been taking a natural antibiotic which seems to have prevented the redness from spreading.
Further suggestions?
Thank you.
Trauma may be the cause, antibiotics to be taken if infection is present.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
It you are sure that you suffered trauma on the finger then trauma is the most probable cause of swelling and redness.
Antibiotic needs to be taken if there is evidence of infection.
Infection manifests with collection of pus and pain which may be throbbing in nature.
I am afraid you have not attached the photograph of the finger lesion.
Thanks and take care
