Suggest Treatment For Severe Throat Pain And Difficulty While Swallowing
Could be cause of snoring
Detailed Answer:
Hello! Thank you for using HealthcareMagic .
I have gone through your question and I understand your concern.
Yes throat pain/neck, may be caused by snoring or sleep apnoea .
This happens often when you sleep with your mouth partially open (that's why you have the snoring ), the air goes directly to the throat and irritate the tonsils (throat ) as a result you have throat pain.
Sleep apnoea and snoring is not the same thing .
Sleep apnoea have snoring as part of the patient concerns (symptoms) but snoring could be also for other reason and in your case could be cause of your nose . The air has difficulties to pass through your nose and you need to breath with your mouth to have more oxygen .
I will write your symptoms of the sleep apnoea so you can have a clear idea of this disorder :
Snoring as an additional feature (besides those mentioned above), feeling sleepy and tired during day because you wake up several times during the night , you wake up during the night because you have the feeling you are chocking, somebody who sleeps in the same room with you can tell this to you "momentarily stopped breathing while sleeping"....sore throat with headache in the morning...
You need to wait for ENT to do a full physical examination (examine your throat , your nose... ), if necessary test for sleep apnoea , to confirm the diagnosis.
Meanwhile for your sore throat: Do gargling with salt water , drink plenty of water , drink XXXXXXX warm (not very hot) tea or other warm drinks .
In case you start having any fever, difficulty/problem in breathing then only you can go to the ER/hospital.
Hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if you have any further clarifications , I will be happy to help.
Take Care !
