Brief Answer:
No specific treatment...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
As such there is no specific treatment. But there are few tips that can help:
1. Start exercise to control weight. This is most important if you are
overweight.
2. Stop
smoking and alcohol consumption (if any). If you drink, it is mandatory that you avoid drinking alcohol before sleep.
3. Sleep with head elevated over couple of pillows. If you have cervical (neck) problems, you can even lift the head end of the cot over wooden blocks / XXXXXXX The aim is to prevent tongue and
uvula from falling back.
4. Avoid sleeping directly under a fan.
5. Try using room humidifier.
6. Prefer to sleep on the side. Avoid sleeping prone.
7. Try nasal strips available at your nearest chemist/pharmacy stores. If you have nasal allergies, congested
nostril you can use nasal decongestants under guidance of your doctor.
8. Avoid heavy meal at night.
Besides all these easy at home measures, I also insist that you talk to your local doctors about
snoring issue. Your doctor will be able to identify the cause of snoring - it may be due to nasal causes, lax throat muscles, increase fat pad behind the throat, central
sleep apnea, effects of medicines, etc. If there is a cause found treating it is essential.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications
