Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (48 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
by applying pressure

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

nosebleeding may have several causes and different treatment approaches may apply. A general first-aid rule is to stay upright, lean forward and apply pressure on the soft part of your nose. The pressure has to be firm and last for several minutes (at least 10-15 minutes or for as long as needed). Applying cold packs on the bridge of the nose may also be helpful.

Persistent nosebleeds have to be referred to an ENT for investigation and treatment. Testing for coagulation problems may reveal the cause in some cases.
