default
Posted on Thu, 8 Dec 2016
Question: Found with a lump in right thyroid. On recommendation from Endocrynologist and Oncosurgeon, the right thyroid is removed. Attached the report of the same.

Whether there are more chances of getting cancerous cells spread to left thyroid or other parts of body?
Whether left gland also to be removed? Whether this fixes the issue?
Please provide your opinion to assist in making further decision.

Whether there will be any issue if she gets conceived now or after 6 months or so? Whether any chances of getting it passed on?

Brief Answer:
Hello dear. Observation only is required

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I have gone through the details. Sincs the tumor is small, no further investigation or intervention is required. A ct neck can be done if not done preoperatively. Patient should be kept on regular follow up only by serum tsh and thyroglobulin measurements. Thyroxine replacement therapy to keep tsh levels suppressed will be required. You can consult your endocrinologist for that.
Thanks and regards
