In the given situation-You and your daughter seem to suffer from-?Morgellons disease.Recent history of Malta visit increases its possibilities.
PCR blood tests for-Lymes disease needs to be verified.Other causes of -Chlamydial/ Mycoplasma/Candidial/Viral infections, needs to be ruled out.
Treatment would depend on confirmation of causal agents.
Doxycycline-100 mg for 2 weeks time would resolve if its lymes diasease.
Antifungals / antibiotics / antiscabatic /antivirals/and anti-ringworm- medicines would be needed.
If delusional element is ruled out(which is very common), thyroid levels need to be checked to rule out hypothyroidism accompanied with it.
For this I would suggest to Consult with dermatologist/psychiatrist/ neurophysician, who would check and investigate its causes and would treat it accordingly.
