Question: I am suffering from enlarged Prostate for which doctor has prescribed VELTAM F, which I have being taking for last three months, now iam facing the problem of errection during inter course what shall I do stop taking the tablet or there is any other alternative. Beside this I am also taking UDILEV 150 does this tablet also have any side effects on sex life. I am 61yrs of Age Please help me

Brief Answer: You can stop if enlargement is not much. Detailed Answer: Hi Mere enlargement of the prostate does not need any treatment. May I please know what were your symptoms? How much was the prostate enlargement.? Was it determined by digital palpation alone and/ or by ultrasonography? Veltam F is known to give this complication of disturbance in sexual function. You can stop this tablet if the symptoms of enlargement of prostate are not there. Udiliv 150 is not to cause such problems. There are alternative medicines in Ayurveda but not much researched, although they may be effective. If the prostate is enlarged to an extent, Consult an Urologist, take a second opinion whether you can stop medicines and if you do require surgery. Surgery also has an advantage that there will be no need of such medicines that cause sexual dysfunction.
