Stone In Ureter. On Valtam, Drotaverine, Potassium Citrate. Unable To Ejaculate Semen During Intercourse. Should I Stop Medicine?
I am suffering from a 6mm stone in the left ureter. Urologist prescribed Veltam 0.4 tablets a day along with potassium mg citrate and pain killer drotaverine. I took veltam during night and during intercourse unable ejaculate my semen. Should I stop veltam now. Or this side effect will I feel till I complete the course for 10 days. Please suggest.
Hi, Veltam is known to cause retrograde ejaculation meaning your semen will go back into bladder at the time of emission. This is entirely harmless and reversible, and this does not interfere with the quality of orgasm. I suggest you continue using Veltam till your stone gets expelled, because this is indeed a good drug for letting small stones come out of the ureter spontaneously as the other option might be an endoscopic surgery for extraction of stone, which though simple, could be expensive, and at present, avoidable.
