Brief Answer:
Please upload the latest thyroid profile reports.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX XXXXXXX

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Please check your latest thyroid function report and inform me or upload it.

In the treatment of hypothyroidism the dose is adjusted based on thyroid function tests and not based on symptoms. Dryness is usually a symptom of hypothyroidism. That means the dose is inadequate. If you are regular with medication consult a doctor and do a thyroid function test. The TSH should be between 0.5 and 3.5 at your age. If not adjust the dose as suggested by your doctor.

Please inform me the results.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

As per my report dated 14/10/2014 my T3 was 2.59, T4 was 1.19 and TSH was 1.112. Should I reduce the dosage to 125mg of Thyronorm. Is there any side effect of taking such high dosage of Thyronorm

Brief Answer:
Thyroid function is normal. No need to decrease

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through the reports.

Your thyroid function reports are normal. If the TSH is normal we need not decrease the dose.

Please repeat thyroid function tests after 2 months. If TSH is coming below 0.5 we can decrease the dose to 125 mcg. If we decrease dose now may be your TSH will go up. There is no side effects with this medicine if T4,TSH is normal
