What Causes Facial Tingling With Armpit And Groin Rash While On Contraception Pill?

Question: Hi I have been to the Dr. and had a cortisone shot, allergy blood panel, and prednisone prescribed to me. i am still itching like crazy and after taking the prednisone I now have intense burning tingling all over my face. I only have red rash in groin and under arms but I am itching everywhere. It is going on almost 2 weeks. I have stopped taking my BC pills (Yaz) at the recommendation of my Dr. I am currently only taking Provera (which I started after the itching started) and a progesterone only BC pill. Can you help??? Recommendations???
Brief Answer:
allergy...possibly progesterone.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM,
If your allergy is not subsiding even by cortisone shots and antihistaminics that simply means that you are being exposed to the allergen still. \Progesterone per se ( dose dependent) can often cause such prolonged allergic reaction till continued. I suggest stop all hormonal contraception and switch to barrier contraception and stop any other drugs you are taking right away and just continue on antihistaminics like FEXOFENADINE 180mg twice a day .
This should give results and help us to find the allergen.
