What Causes Lower Abdominal Discomfort?
Colonoscopy has to be done.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
At you age (over 50) such symptoms can indicate large intestine lesion (including a polyp or colon cancer). The risk of large intestine malignancies significantly rises over the age of 50. That is why, it is strongly advisable for you to have colonoscopy done.
I do not say you have a cancer. I just want you to make sure the worst possibility is ruled out.
Other possible reason of stool problem are hypothyroidism, low fiber intake, hypertension medicines.
Right shoulder blade can be associated with abdominal issues in case of gallstones. However in such case the abdominal pain is in upper right abdomen. Otherwise, there is no connection between lower abdominal pain and shoulder blade pain.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
