What Causes Nerve Compression Pain After Ankle Repair Surgery?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
3 weeks rest is needed after surgery.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
After an internal fixation of the ankle joint it takes at least 6-8 weeks for the bones to heal completely. You need to avoid weight bearing for at least 3 weeks after the surgery so that the bones at least start healing. After 3 weeks you can be allowed a partial weight bearing. Gradually you can shift to full weight bearing in another 1-2 weeks if it is painless.
Be careful to remove the boot while resting and take a calcium rich and a high protein diet for proper and early healing.
I hope this answers your query.
